Philadelphia, PA (April 15, 2026) – Comcast Spectacor and The Cordish Companies will open the highly-anticipated $20+ million transformation of Stateside Live! on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 5 p.m. The expansion marks a significant investment that is redefining the South Philadelphia Sports Complex as a premier, year-round multi-experience entertainment destination unlike anything else in the region.

The newly expanded property, set in the center of the Sports Complex among Philadelphia’s four beloved professional teams, will debut with a weekend-long grand opening celebration for the public. Designed to bring people together, the reimagined plaza introduces a wide range of new experiences – from elevated cocktail and beverage venues to social gathering spaces and enhanced sports viewing and live entertainment – creating an unmatched atmosphere year-round.

A GAME-CHANGING DESTINATION: WHAT’S NEW

The expansion comes on the heels of Philadelphia-based Stateside Brands coming on as the venue’s new title partner this past fall. The upgrades will transform Stateside Live! into a dynamic indoor–outdoor entertainment destination, designed to host everything from casual gatherings and dynamic game-day activations to large-scale concerts, festivals, and private events for up to 5,000 guests. Stateside Live! is now the only destination in the city where fans can choose to watch the game indoors with a high-energy, stadium-inspired atmosphere or outside under the open sky with the same immersive viewing experience.

New elements of the plaza expansion include:

AVA Rooftop Bar

A two-story, open-air rooftop lounge positioned at the heart of the plaza, offering unobstructed views over the stadium district. AVA transitions seamlessly from daytime social gatherings and sunset cocktails to DJ-driven nightlife on weekends and Sunday day parties. With an elevated menu, craft cocktail program, and curated bottle service experience, AVA introduces a rooftop lounge concept to South Philadelphia that rivals the city’s top downtown destinations. AVA will offer a crowd-pleasing food menu featuring elevated bites and fan favorites including Parmesan Herb Fries, Spicy Tuna Tacos, Lobster Rolls and Braised Short Rib Sliders. This will be the third location for AVA, joining their indoor-outdoor venue near the entrance to the St. Louis Cardinals’ Busch Stadium and their rooftop in Cary, NC.

Coors Light Stage

A state-of-the-art outdoor performance stage with capacity for up to 5,000 attendees, including 1,000 premium seats, positioned at the center of the plaza with cutting-edge audio and lighting production. The stage will host a full lineup of local, regional and national acts throughout summer and fall 2026, alongside festivals, community events, and broadcast watch parties on the accompanying LED screen system. It is the largest purpose-built outdoor entertainment stages within the Sports Complex.

PBR Backyard

The expansion nearly doubles the footprint of PBR Philly, adding a dedicated outdoor stage, dance floor, and new VIP sections to create a fully immersive country entertainment experience. Known nationally for its high-energy, crowd-driven atmosphere, live music, line dancing, and themed programming, PBR Philly turns every night into a shared experience, bringing its signature energy to the heart of the Sports Complex.

A sun-soaked open-air beer garden built for socializing, sports watching, and celebration serving a full seasonal lineup of brews alongside the Stateside Crush Bar, featuring freshly hand-squeezed cocktails made with a variety of spirits.

The new experiences are complemented by Philadelphia’s most iconic game-day food lineup, including Chickie’s & Pete’s, Lorenzo’s Pizza, and Geno’s Steaks, all under one roof, alongside expanded offerings and a new ordering technology platform designed for speed and convenience.

T1 clinched the title after a 3-2 victory over South Korea’s KT Rolster at the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Gymnasium in Chengdu, China. The matchup represented a Telecom War for the ages, and the first Telecom War in the World Final. Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, a member of the T1 team, was awarded MVP of the event.

T1, the Philadelphia co-founded global powerhouse, maintains its dominance in the esports industry, with the win marking its sixth world championship – a global record. The championship drew over 6.7 million viewers globally, making it the most watched match of the tournament and contending with last year’s record-breaking viewership event.

Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers Select Turner, AECOM Hunt Joint Venture as Construction Partner for new South Philadelphia Arena

PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 24, 2025) – The Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have selected a joint venture led by Turner Construction and AECOM Hunt as the construction manager for their new state-of-the-art arena in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. The joint venture, named PACT+, will also include prominent Philadelphia-based firms Perryman Construction, Hunter Roberts Construction Group and Camfred Construction. PACT+ will work closely with the teams’ ownership and the design team at Populous and Moody Nolan to bring the new arena to life.

The targeted opening date for the arena is 2030, coinciding with the debut of the new WNBA Philadelphia team, which will play there.

Agreement Terms & Timing

Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) and Comcast today announced that HBSE and Comcast Spectacor have entered into a binding agreement to form a 50-50 joint venture to build a world-class, state-of-the-art arena in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex that will be the new home of the Philadelphia 76ers and Philadelphia Flyers.

Slated to open in 2031, with the potential to accelerate to an earlier date, the new facility will be one of the finest, most technologically advanced, and sustainable sports and entertainment arenas in the country. In addition, the partnership will include a 50-50 venture to invest in the revitalization of Market East in Center City.

By committing to both investments, the partnership will create thousands of jobs, generate billions of dollars in economic activity for the city, region and state, and enhance commitments to create economic opportunity in neighborhoods across Philadelphia. In addition, Comcast is planning to take a minority stake in the 76ers and will join with HBSE to bid to bring a WNBA team to the city.

In addition to the plaza, Xfinity Live! itself is undergoing substantial improvements, the first of which is the recent $2 million expansion of Broad Street Bullies Pub into the NBC Sports Arena. The renovated space, which includes an expansion of Chickie & Pete’s, additional LED screens, a new indoor/outdoor bar, and a major outdoor patio renovation adjacent to Citizens Bank Park, is now open.

We look forward to welcoming more guests and fans than ever before.”

The partnership is proud to have exceeded MWBE thresholds for minority and local participation during the construction of Xfinity Live!, achieving a 45 percent contracting diversity percentage, and is committed to the same during the upgrades to the interior, exterior and plaza areas. In addition to Xfinity Live!, The Cordish Companies has invested over $800 million in the Philadelphia Sports Complex with the opening of its Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia in 2021, reaching 51 percent MWBE participation during construction.

Xfinity Live! updates are already underway, and the full project is anticipated to be completed in early 2026. The facility will remain open throughout construction.
