Philadelphia Flyers

Established in 1967 by legendary owner Ed Snider with the NHL’s first wave of expansion, the Philadelphia Flyers became one of the league’s iconic and successful franchises that were quickly embraced and beloved by fans in the city. Snider, along with Bobby Clarke, Bernie Parent, Bill Barber, Joe Watson and other legendary players, created what was known as the ‘Broad Street Bullies’ and set a standard of success, and established a style of play that embodied the city’s blue-collar, hard work ethic.

The Flyers’ early success changed hockey, culminating in the club becoming the first expansion team to win a Stanley Cup Championship in 1974. The Flyers would repeat as Stanley Cup Champions in 1975, and to this day, remain one of the winningest teams in the NHL since they joined the league. The Flyers own the NHL’s third-best all-time winning percentage and have over 40 playoff appearances throughout its 56-year history and eight overall appearances in the Stanley Cup Finals.
