Phil Laws is Chief Operating Officer for Comcast Spectacor. A 25-year veteran of the sports and entertainment industry, Laws provides direct oversight to all the company’s venue and operating management and the South Philadelphia Sports Complex development plans. Laws’ team at Wells Fargo Center oversees the venue’s operations, including security, guest services, events, facility maintenance, and sustainability. He was also the project manager of the arena’s multi-year $400 million transformation initiative which redefined Wells Fargo Center’s live event experience. His responsibilities at Comcast Spectacor also cover the Wells Fargo Center Complex, Xfinity Live! and Flyers Training Center in Voorhees, NJ.
An experienced operator, Laws has managed stadiums, arenas, convention centers and theaters in five states and the District of Columbia. He has worked with teams in the NBA, NHL, MLS, NLL, AFL and both Major and Minor League Baseball.
Laws served as the arena’s General Manager from 2019-2023 and prior to that served as Vice President of Operations leading the venue through the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Previously, Laws was Director of Operations for Spectra Venue Management, which oversees operations for more than 200 venues across North America.
Laws earned his bachelor’s degree in international affairs from the University of Maryland, College Park.
